  skos:scopeNote "Form of improvisational folk theatre with a century- long course from Asia tο the Mediterranean. It is based in orality (memorisation), empirical learning (artistry) and is a primarily collective anonymous creation. It is performed with flat articulated cut-out figures painted on paper, leather or other material against a white screen lighted from the back. The artists of shadow theatre move the figures, the result being that the audience sees the silhouettes or/and the colours -depending of the figures used. The Greek shadow theatre is Karagiozis, deriving from the Turkish Karagöz."@en, "Λαϊκό αυτοσχεδιαστικό είδος θεάτρου, με μακραίωνη διαδρομή από την Ασία έως τη Μεσόγειο, βασίζεται στην προφορικότητα (απομνημόνευση), την εμπειρική εκμάθηση (δεξιοτεχνία) και αποτελεί κατεξοχήν συλλογική ανώνυμη δημιουργία. Παίζεται με τη βοήθεια ζωγραφισμένων εικόνων σε χαρτί, δέρμα ή άλλο υλικό, πάνω σε μια λευκή οθόνη που φωτίζεται από πίσω. Οι καλλιτέχνες του θεάτρου σκιών χειρίζονται τις φιγούρες δίνοντάς τους κίνηση, με αποτέλεσμα ο θεατής να βλέπει καθαρά τα περιγράμματα ή -ανάλογα με την κατασκευή- και τα χρώματά τους. Ο ελληνικός του εδαφισμός είναι ο γνωστός Καραγκιόζης, προερχόμενος από τον τούρκικο <em>Karagöz</em>."@el ;
