  skos:scopeNote "Το σύνολο των ρυθμικών και προσωδιακών κανόνων που διέπουν την τέχνη του ποιητικού μέτρου στον αρχαίο ελληνικό ποιητικό λόγο. Σε αντίθεση με τη νέα ελληνική ποίηση που είναι τονική, στηρίζεται δηλαδή στην εναλλαγή τονισμένων και άτονων συλλαβών, η αρχαία ελληνική ποίηση βασίζει το ρυθμό της στην κανονική εναλλαγή μακρών και βραχειών συλλαβών. Η με ορισμένη τάξη εναλλαγή συλλαβών με μεγαλύτερη και συλλαβών με μικρότερη διάρκεια στην προφορά τους (προσωδία), είναι που γεννάει και καθορίζει το αίσθημα του ρυθμού στην αρχαία ελληνική ποίηση. Στόχος λοιπόν της αρχαίας ελληνικής μετρικής ως κλάδου της επιστήμης της φιλολογίας είναι α) ο καθορισμός των μακρών και των βραχειών συλλαβών και β) η διαπίστωση του τρόπου με τον οποίο εναλλάσσονται οι μακρές και οι βραχείες συλλαβές στο αρχαίο ελληνικό στίχο με αποτέλεσμα τη δημιουργία ρυθμού."@el ;
