Από την βασιλεία του Βασιλείου Β’ και μετά τα ιστάμενα άλλαξαν μορφή, προκειμένου να διαχωρίζονται από τους σόλιδους, και έγιναν πλατύτερα, λεπτότερα, καθώς και κοίλα. Τον 12ο αι. μ.Χ. ο όρος στάμενον χρησιμοποιήθηκε για να δηλώσει ένα νόμισμα χαμηλής αξίας από κράμα χαλκού με λίγο άργυρο."@el, "The gold Byzantine solidi that received this new name when the slightly lighter gold tetartera were introduced during the reign of Nikephoros II (963-969 CE).
