SCOPE NOTE

  • The different styles of writing adopted by scribes using a particular alphabet, for instance by the Greeks after the adoption of their alphabet from the Phoenicians. The variety of these styles may be due to ignorance or experimenting until the scribes reached a particular way of writing.
