SCOPE NOTE
- Byzantine, silver coins. They were first introduced in 1304 CE by Andronikos II Palaiologos (1282-1328 CE). They weighed ca. 2 gr. and were officially traded at a rate of 1:12 gold hyperpyra. They were replaced towards the end of the 14th c. CE by the stavrata.
