SCOPE NOTE
- Light weight gold Byzantine coins that were introduced by the Emperor Nikephoros II (963-969 CE). The coins weighed 22 carats instead of the 24 of the older solidi. They continued to be struck by every successor of Nikephoros II until 1092 CE.
