SCOPE NOTE
- Statement or attitude that is considered as a profanation of established religious orders, beliefs and morals. Blasphemy is in fact a social transgression that is taken to embody disrespect and threat for the established order, and often induces punishment. Therefore, it is a culturally relative category that is framed in terms of the orthodox discourses and the institutions that define it and interpret/ rerpoduce it.
