SCOPE NOTE
- Violent phenomena of sudden discharge of lava, gas, and ash on the earth's surface through fissures in the earth's crust (volcanoes). Powerful volcanic eruptions have provoked fundamental changes in geomorphology, climate, flora and fauna, while they have been destructive for human life and establishment even within a relatively long range from their locus.
