SCOPE NOTE
- A narrative technique in which a narrator’s comment interrupts the story-time, while the narrative time continues. This take place, for example, when the narrator interrupts the progression of the story in order to hold forth about general problems, to comment on the characters’ behavior, or to reflect on the act of narration.
