BROADER CONCEPT
SCOPE NOTE
- The way in which the events and characters’ actions in a story are arranged by the author and how this arrangement in turn facilitates the identification of their motivations and consequences. The plot must not be confused with the story. The story is the chronological sequence of events, whereas the plot is the causal and logical structure which connects events. According to this distinction the same story can be represented through, theoretically, an infinite number of plots.
