SCOPE NOTE
- The Milesian was the oldest weight standard. It was based on a stater of 14.2 gr. which at first was divided into thirds, sixths, twelfths etc. Sometime later this system was replaced by the Mainland system with division of fourths, that is drachms, and obols.
