BROADER CONCEPT
SCOPE NOTE
- Deliberate action by small army or guerilla groups, or even by activists associated with social movements, aiming at damaging means of production or infrastructure in order to weaken a government in times of internal conflict or war. During World War II anti-German resistance groups in Europe practiced effective sabotage against factories, military installations, railroads, bridges etc. Sabotage became a basic strategy of insurgent groups associated with anticolonial and separatist movements.
