- Gold and silver coins, in the name of Alexander the Great, minted during his lifetime, and also after his death. Alexanders were issued in Macedonia, Greece proper, Black Sea, Asia Minor, Cyprus, Syria, Phoenicia, Babylonia and Egypt.
