ΠΛΑΤΥΤΕΡΟΙ ΟΡΟΙ
ΔΙΕΥΚΡΙΝΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ
- Gold coins weighing around 17.80 gr and valued at 60 silver drachms. They were first introduced by Ptolemy I (305-285 BCE) and continued to be minted under Ptolemy II (285-246 BCE) during the first half of his reign. They are called pentadrachms by numismatists who consider their weight and not their value in silver.
