ΔΙΕΥΚΡΙΝΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ
- Magistrates known in many ancient Greek states. In Athens there were ten, five for the city and five for Piraeus. They kept order in the market, saw to the quality of goods and cleanliness of the Agora. They also had the right to impose punishments or fines on those who violated the market laws.
