ΔΙΕΥΚΡΙΝΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ
- Essential part of the plot of a tragedy according to Aristotle, anagnorisis (recognition) -already known from the Homeric epics- defines the transition of the tragic hero from ignorance to knowledge through a sudden revelation. This procedure results in the awareness of the true nature of their situation, or that of the others and the discovery of their identity– leading to the resolution of the drama. In classical and contemporary dramaturgy, it constitutes a dramaturgical technique where a character is recongised by another and the conflict is resolved.
